High School Course of Studies (Grades 9-12)

All students are required to complete a Bible course during each semester they attend RFIS. Students explore the Bible to find its application both to the original recipients and to our contemporary setting. Bible 9/10 alternates between an Old Testament and New Testament survey course. 11 th and 12 th grade each have one defined semester and one that is more flexible. 11 th grade students spend one semester exploring the “Historical Foundations” of modern Christianity and 12 th grade students examine contemporary issues and worldviews in a semester of “Faith Beyond.” The other semester for these two years has included such courses as How to Study the Bible, Christianity in the Arts, Ethics, etc. This flexibility allows the opportunity to take advantage of the expertise available within our extended community.
