Think Christian, Excellence, International, think RFIS

I officially started as a student at RFIS in 10th grade during the 2019-2020 school year, making my debut into a high school after homeschooling right as the world shut down. Making the shift to being in a school while the world was also trying to figure out what was going on was tough, but throughout it I never stopped being supported by my teachers and the staff. No matter what was happening, they made sure that my classmates and I were paying attention to the world around us and asking hard questions about the material we were learning in class. They encouraged me to keep struggling and fighting to do my best even when I wanted to give up, or was not doing as well as I wanted in some classes, helping me to graduate well and get into both my school and major of choice.
Once I got to college, I realized that my time at RFIS helped prepare me to be an avid scholar who is dedicated to listening to others with empathy, thinking about what I read critically, and using my words intentionally. Because of the excellent education I received from my teachers and the challenges that they would give us in class, I was well prepared to start college and keep up with my peers, which has now lead me to succeed beyond my own expectations. Overall, I’m thankful for the opportunity to go to RFIS and the doors its opened for me since leaving.
