My first year here at RFIS was one of the scariest in my life. Coming out of a Cameroonian system to go to an American one was a huge challenge. Everything was different. The environment was different, the teaching style was different and even the English accent was
different. Seeing so many different cultures in one place was overwhelming as well and trying to
adapt to everything wasn’t easy.

Despite this, RFIS was among the best experiences I’ve ever had in my whole life. RFIS is an amazing place because of three main things: the people, the environment and the teachers.

The people: The students of RFIS are very welcoming and kind, always willing to help those who need it and really fun people to be around. It’s where I made some of my life long best friends.

The environment: The trees and the fresh air promotes a calm and peaceful atmosphere. RFIS is
like a second home to me because I love nature and the environment is simply relaxing. It’s also a Christian school with Christian values and morals which is even more appealing, because we are being taught about the Bible.

The teachers: The teachers at RFIS are simply amazing. Each teacher is always disposed to listen to students if they have any problems. They are all very open, kind and hardworking people. There are also many wonderful activities and events such as kick off day, retreat, sports games,
international week and much more.

Although my time at RFIS started out a bit lonely and confusing, I’ve been changed by the environment and the people. I don’t regret going there and I would encourage other students to do the same.
